Dyslexia Guernsey
Sarah Ozanne- BA(Hons), APS
About me
My name is Sarah Ozanne and I am a specialist dyslexia tutor in Guernsey. I have experience of working in primary and secondary schools and also further education, so have seen the challenges children and young people can face when they experience difficulties with reading and writing. By helping people overcome such obstacles, I hope to help them develop greater self-esteem, achieve more success in education and fulfil their potential.
In August 2021, I achieved the British Dyslexia Association’s Level 5 Certificate in Dyslexia; Literacy, Support and Intervention. I was awarded Accredited Practitioner Status which means I am qualified to work with children and young people up to 18 years of age.
I also hold Professional Membership of the British Dyslexia Association, Professional Indemnity Insurance and am registered with the Office of the Data Protection Authority.
What I offer
I currently work in a local secondary school and provide private tuition outside of school hours, at weekends and school holidays.
The tuition I provide is for children and young people up to the age of 18 who have literacy difficulties or who would like support with study skills, including revision and exam preparation.
The benefit of 1:1 tuition is that it begins with an assessment of the individual's needs so that a programme of support can be tailored accordingly. Multisensory activities are a key element of lessons to make learning fun, engaging and memorable.
Lessons are usually 1 hour and generally take place in the client's home, either after school or at weekends. Arrangements can also be made for lessons during school holidays.
Although I am not qualified to formally diagnose dyslexia, I am currently undertaking this training and so will be able to offer this service in future.
